Boomerang Bags is a growing national community initiative underway to replace plastic bag use with recycled, upcycled fabric "community made" bags.
Dungog is the 20th community to embrace the Boomerang Bag initiative. With business, council, school and community support. Raising awareness and getting us all involved to "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Renew” our rubbish and waste in our communities is the way forward to a cleaner, regenerative, sustainable and healthier environment for all. The plastic pollution, waste and rubbish problem on land and in the waterways and oceans is huge. The time is now for us all to take responsibility in our everyday to get involved to make a difference now and for the future of our most precious natural world home and ALL of we animals that share life within it.
- Fabric donations and bag makers/sewers welcome
We have regular sewing bees in town at the Dungog Festival Office - our next one is Thursday May 12 from 12 - 5pm.
