Wrap Around Family Support & Counselling is a non judgemental and respectful process. Counselling can provide both information and an advocate or support. We work with families to make a difference.

Community and Family Support (CAFS)

Dungog Shire Community Centre provides free Community and Family Support (CAFS) services for children, young people, families and community members in the Dungog area. CAFS is designed to help people access support early, build confidence, strengthen family and community connections, and reduce the chance of issues escalating.

What we help with

• Information, advice and referral to local services

• Practical advocacy and support to help people navigate service systems

• Family capacity building and parenting support

• Community engagement activities, playgroups, youth activities and workshops

• Opportunities for social participation and connection

• Warm referrals to specialist services where needed

Who can access support?

CAFS is available to children, young people, families and community members who are experiencing barriers to support, social isolation, family stress, parenting challenges, financial pressure, housing stress, service access issues or other factors affecting wellbeing.

How to refer or enquire

Community members can contact DSCC directly. Schools, health services, community organisations and other providers can also make referrals with consent. DSCC will respond in a welcoming, respectful and confidential way and will help identify the most appropriate next step.
